Greenhouses are becoming more and more popular in the retail sector, where they are used for a wide range of purposes. As showrooms, light-filled meeting spaces, but also covered car parks and for the sale of flowers, plants and local products. Beautiful, transparent architecture in combination with existing buildings. The pairing of commercial activities with a bright, green environment has a broad appeal. Light creates happiness and puts a smile on consumers’ faces. Harness the light and create the ultimate indoor-outdoor feel with Thermoflor.
We recently built a new glass entrance at the Albert Heijn supermarket in Berchem, Belgium. This combines covered bike parking, access to the car park at the rear for drivers and an open entrance area offering flexible sales space. An attractive renovation of an old industrial building through integration of the transparency offered by a glass greenhouse.
“Glass buildings have a certain irresistible fascination by the brightness of their environment and the appealing atmosphere,” says May Wood in the book ‘Glasshouses’.
