Why engineering plays a major role in relation to the development of a garden centre
We are proud of being a full-service partner in relation to the development and construction of garden centres that we delivery turnkey, that is, ready for business. In this entire process, engineering is often a neglected part while it does play a key role in the overall process of ‘design & construct’. It is all about the expertise of the draughtspersons who know exactly how to translate the architect's design into light but strong structures recorded up to the minutest detail. We can produce precision-made components based on 3D simulations and detailed specifications of our own engineers and draughtspersons for a problem-free and therefore speedy construction at the construction site.
Large span length, small tolerances
We produce glass roofs that can be 12.90 metres wide! The metal structure for this is produced in components in the factory of our sister company Deforche Construct. These metal components are taken to the site for the new garden centre as a ‘do-it-yourself kit’ to be assembled there and to be covered with transparent sheets made of glass or plastic. The larger the structure, the smaller the tolerances. Every time, it is awe-inspiring to see how such a huge aluminium structure fits perfectly in the vertical columns. Garden centre engineering at its best!
