Turn-key building for Intratuin Maastricht (NL)
Customers know their way to the Maastricht branch of the Intratuin chain of garden centres owned by Mark and Paul Smeets, and their establishment was getting too small. Their previous location was not suitable for further expansion, and so they asked us to build an entirely new garden centre for them, close to their former establishment.
A major advantage of building entirely new premises is that business can continue as usual at the existing garden centre. Another reason for erecting a new building with an area of just over 7,000 m2 covered with broad-span roofs was the lack of sufficient space at the former location, which caused parking problems on busy days. The garden centre also has a first floor with an area of 2,300 m2 and a storeroom of 1,000 m2.
The design is by the architects’ firm Breddels. We carried out the building work in a turn-key project, with all aspects under our own control and without any intervention of other parties, from the earthwork right through to the installation of the surveillance cameras. For the Smeets entrepreneurs this involved the great advantages that they didn’t have to worry about anything themselves and they knew exactly whom to contact if they had any questions.
