Assignment for the second rebuilding phase of the Swiss nursery Rutishauser (CH)
After the tremendous fire of 2013 work on rebuilding the Ecofarm of the flower family Rutishauser is steadily progressing. Now that the first phase of the work has been completed to the family’s satisfaction we have been asked to carry out the second phase of the work, too.
Once again it has been decided to build a 12.80-m wide-span greenhouse, now with a total area of 19,000 m2 roofed with diffuse glass. In the greenhouse the crops will be grown in two layers to make optimum use of the available space. Half of the area will have multiple vent windows to allow greater flexibility in e.g. the cultivation of outdoor plants.
The entire new build will be operating at full capacity in early 2017, enabling the nursery to offer the high quality that is so typical of the Swiss. As the flower family put it themselves: Es blüht und wächst in Züberwangen (Things are blossoming and growing in Züberwangen).
