Hortus Botanicus Amsterdam (NL)

The greenhouse was built in a collaborative partnership between various contractors and installers. From an early stage onwards the experts involved in the project regularly consulted one another to ensure a fast, efficient realisation of the work. We provided the technical design for the greenhouse, which we also built.

Two-thirds of the greenhouse was built on top of a stone substructure containing offices. One-third was erected directly adjacent to it.

The greenhouse has four separate climate zones: a tropical greenhouse, a Mediterranean greenhouse, an arid greenhouse and winter storage accommodation.

Each climate zone must have a different temperature and relative humidity. This is realised via separate control of the climate systems, such as sun screens and ventilation windows, in each zone. The technical systems were installed together with Lek/Habo.
